The Register of Exercise professionals is a rigorous system of self-regulation for instructors, coaches, trainers and teachers involved in supervising people who exercise and partake in physical activity programmes. Registration is achieved and maintained through the gaining of qualification and training, which is nationally regonised and linked to the National Occupational Standards for the fitness industry. This ensures that the trainer has
Gained a recognised and approved qualification
Demonstrated competence in their working environment
Committed to their own ongoing professional development
A current CPR and first aid certificate
Public liability insurance
Code of Ethical practice
The role of the trainers / instuctors is to;
Meet the needs of the individual
Improve performance or fitness through safe, effective and challenging exercise
Create an environment in which individuals are motivated to maintain participation and improve performance or fitness
Contribute
positively to the development of individuals, which is a vehicle for
physical, mental, personal, social and emotional development.
